Royal Scandal: Ooni of Ife exposes $180,000 marriage scam hoax!

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has emphatically refuted sensational claims that he scammed an American woman out of $180,000.

The allegations, which have rocked social media, were propagated by a well-known blogger on X, asserting that the revered monarch had deceived a woman from Osun, named Fagbule, in a supposed marriage scam.

The viral post, filled with voice note allegations, suggested that the traditional ruler had a close relationship with the victim from Ile-Ife, who was reportedly seeking to establish free medical services for women and children in her hometown. According to the claims, she was duped by Ogunwusi.

However, in a fiery rebuttal posted on Facebook by his spokesperson, Moses Olafare, the Ooni of Ife dismissed the accusations as “fake, untrue, and completely unfounded.” Ogunwusi categorically denied any personal connection to Fagbule, attributing her misfortune to savvy fraudsters masquerading as him.

The monarch also issued a stern warning to women, advising them to be wary of con artists exploiting their aspirations to become his wife.

“Their desire to become my wife made them easy targets for scammers,” Ogunwusi cautioned.

The statement continued:

“That the news as posted by a Twitter (now X) handle called ‘99% OPPRESSED’ is fake, untrue, and absolutely an unfounded allegation only adopted as a nugatory character assassination tactic aimed at achieving a cheap popularity with a view to drawing huge followers/traffic for avaricious monetization from Twitter (X).”

Furthermore, Ogunwusi chastised Fagbule for her method of addressing the issue, suggesting that she should have approached the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) rather than airing her grievances on social media.
