Elegushi demands justice for Mohbad

In a surprising turn of events, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, the Elegushi, Kunsela III of the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Lagos, has demanded a thorough investigation into the untimely death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as ‘Mohbad.’

Through his lawyer, Adepeju Omotayo, Oba Elegushi made his position clear at the continuation of the trial of two suspects, James Adeshola and Awiye Azeez. The suspects are accused of unwarranted cyberbullying and defamation against the traditional ruler in connection with Mohbad’s death.

Omotayo stated, “The traditional ruler is passionate about uncovering the truth behind Mohbad’s death. He urges all those seeking justice to do so responsibly and legally. Kabiesi will not allow anyone, regardless of their status, to tarnish his good name and reputation for any gain.”

She also emphasized that Oba Elegushi never met or interacted with Mohbad, his wife, or any member of his family. This clarification aims to end the baseless allegations linking him to the tragedy.

“Kabiesi desires, as a father and leader, to uncover the circumstances leading to Mohbad’s death. He conveyed this directly to Mr. Josiah Aloba, Mohbad’s father, during a meeting at the Zone 2 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Onikan. Mr. Aloba was questioned over unfounded statements against Kabiesi.”

In a display of magnanimity, Oba Elegushi ensured that Mr. Aloba was not detained by the police, emphasizing his commitment to seeking justice for Mohbad and his family without oppression.

The trial of the two accused persons will resume on July 5, 2024, at a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos. As the investigation unfolds, the call for justice by Oba Elegushi demands justice for Mohbad, adding a dramatic twist to the ongoing quest for the truth behind Mohbad’s mysterious death.
