“Wike is now playing God” — Former Militant blasts FCT Minister

Tensions continue to flare in Rivers State as Nyesom Wike and Sim Fubara bicker over the State’s local politics.

According to former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike is unduly interfering in the current Governor’s affairs in the state, resulting in the ongoing political tussle.

Dokubo’s allegations revolve around Wike’s purported involvement in a rift between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his godson.

In a video circulating on X.com, Dokubo lambasted Wike, accusing him of “playing god” in the unfolding crisis. He also criticized President Bola Tinubu, alleging that he had unfairly favored a former governor by granting control over Rivers and Bayelsa states.

“He is now playing God. It is dead on arrival, all those things that he is doing,” Dokubo asserted in the video.

Furthermore, Dokubo commended Governor Fubara’s administration for its efforts in enhancing the state’s revenue generation. Fubara had earlier revealed that under his leadership, Rivers State’s monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) surged from N12 billion to N27 billion.

“The governor had come out to say that the IGR for Rivers State is now N25bn up from N12bn. The governor is even being economical with the truth. When the governor came in, they were giving him a paltry sum of N6bn,” Dokubo stated, applauding the governor’s achievements while underscoring the challenges faced upon assuming office.
