Samuel Eto’o’s daughter, Erika de Rosario wants father jailed

Cameroon Football Federation President, Samuel Eto’o, one of Africa’s most renowned football legends, may be heading for a prison term as his daughter, Erika de Rosario, accuses him of not paying a monthly allowance totaling €90,000 over a period of five years.

Erika, who was born to Eto’o’s former partner, Adileusa de Rosario, claims that the football star has neglected his financial responsibilities towards her.

Eto’o, who dated De Rosario during his time as a Real Madrid player in the 1990s, finally acknowledged Erika as his daughter in February 2022. It was agreed that Eto’o would provide a monthly allowance to support Erika due to her precarious financial situation.

However, according to Erika’s lawyer, Fernando Osuna, Eto’o has failed to fulfill his obligations for the past five years, resulting in an outstanding debt of almost €90,000. Osuna argues that Erika’s economic condition remains fragile while Eto’o continues to live a life of luxury.

Osuna, speaking to El Diario de Sevilla, stated, “He owes more than five years of pension to his daughter and continues to defy justice. Erika’s economy is fragile, while Eto’o lives in luxury. He could be judged with the aggravating circumstance of abuse of power, given his economic superiority over Erika.”

The legal proceedings regarding this case will take place in Madrid, as confirmed by Osuna. If found guilty, Eto’o could face imprisonment for his alleged failure to meet his financial obligations towards his daughter.

Samuel Eto’o’s illustrious football career spanned numerous clubs, including Chelsea and Inter Milan, where he achieved remarkable success.
