61-year old Lagos man electrocuted during flood incident
A 61-year-old man lost his life after being electrocuted during a flood in Lagos State, according to the Lagos Police Command.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Orile-Iganmu area during heavy rainfall.
Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the tragic event on his X handle, @benHundeyin, on Thursday.
Hundeyin stated, “During the rain yesterday in Orile-Iganmu, a 61-year-old man, while wading through the floods, held on to a street light pole and sadly got electrocuted.”
The police have urged the public to exercise caution and prioritize safety during adverse weather conditions.
