According to the black market Naira to Dollar currency rate, it currently sells at N1,228.00 per $1 at the parallel market on Thursday 21 December 2023 in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed at N1,238.00 per $1 on Wednesday, 20 December 2023.

Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦1,228 per $1 today.

According to reports,  the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market.

The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.

In the black market, the players buy a dollar for N1,1225 and sell for N1,228 on Thursday, 21 December 2023, after they purchased N1,235 and sold for N1,238 on Wednesday, 20 December 2023.

Meanwhile, the USD started this week at ₦1,235 in Parallel Market also known as Black Market on Monday, December 18, 2023, in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at ₦1,955 last week Monday, December 11, 2023.
