2 Brothers Arrested For Serial Rape

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two brothers Paul Jibunor, 23 and Nkoenye Jibunor, 28, for alleged serial rape and robbery.

They were arrested on 31 December, 2017 following a report from one Ijeoma (surname withheld) who complained to the police at Ojodu Abiodun Division that she was picked up in a taxi by three men on 29 December from the Afrikan Shrine at Alausa, Lagos to Iwo street, Ojodu Abiodun, on an agreed fee only for the men to forcefully dragged her down and have unlawful carnal knowledge of her after which they dispossessed her of her belongings.

She told the police that she sighted the three men at Adebayo area of Ojodu and was able to recognize them.

The DPO Ojodu Abiodun division, Bamidele Job detailed detectives to the area where two of the suspects were arrested while the third one escaped.

The suspects confessed to the crime. Further investigation revealed that they have been involved in series of rape cases around the area.

Their mode of operation is to use uber taxi to pick their victims to an isolated area where victims are raped in turn before dispossessing them of their belongings.

Some of the victim’s properties such as necklace, phone and wristwatch were recovered from them.

Also arrested was one Mr Noah Olaore with 100 bags of Indian hemp.

ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relation Officer made this known in a statement.

He stated that Noah was arrested on the 29 December 2017, in front of M.K.O Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

He said the arrest of the suspect followed information received by men of the Federal Anti Robbery Squad that some hoodlums who are specialists in importing hard drug from Benin Republic into Ogun State are on their way to the state.

A team of FSARS operatives led by Inspector Adeyemi Akeem were detailed to go after the hoodlums and they accosted them in front of the M.K.O Abiola stadium where the suspect was arrested with the exhibits.

Further investigation led the Police to Igbo-Ora in Oyo State where more bags of the weeds were recovered. A total of 114 bags of Indian hemp were recovered.

The state Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the two alleged serial rapists be transferred to State Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation and prosecution.

He also directed his men to fish out the other member of the gang who escaped.
