Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Geography under the Faculty of Sciences in the above Universities include;

» Geography and any two of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agricultural Science.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(1) UNIBADAN requires Mathematics / Biology, Chemistry / Physics, Further Maths or Geography.

(2) ABU requires Geography, Biology and any other Science subject.

(3) UNN requires Geography and any two subject preferably Arts or Social Science subject

O’level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Geography;

You require;
Five SSCE credit passes to include English language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two science subjects.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(1) OOU requires two other Science subjects.

(2) UNIBADAN requires 5 or 6 ‘O’ level credit passes at one or two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two other Science subjects.

(3) GOMSU accepts Economics.

(4) UMYU Science Option-Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science. Humanities Option- Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two of Government, Economics, Commerce and Accounting.

(5) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English language, Mathematics, Geography, Biology and any other science subjects.

(6) UNN requires five o’ level credit passes including English Language, Geography and any three from Arts or Social Science subjects and at least a pass in Mathematics.

(7) KASU only accept among Chemistry, Biology or Physics as the other two Science subjects.

(8) ABSU requires Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three subjects from Arts, Social Science and Sciences. A credit pass in Geography is compulsory.

(9) FUTMINNA accepts requires credit pass in Physics and any other science subject.

(10) GODFREY requires two other subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.

Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Geography, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes in Geography and one other science subject.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(1) FUTMINNA accepts Geography and Mathematics/Physics (Physics proffered.

(2) FUTMINNA accepts NCE (merit), ND/HND credit) Meteorology.

(3) BAYERO does not accept Econs.

(4) KUST accepts IJMB/ND/NCE for Direct Entry in Geography.

(5) GOMSU accepts Economics and Government.

(6) UMYU accept in addition to O/level requirements two ‘A’ Level or NCE subject’s one of which must be Geography.

(7) UNN accepts:
a) Two ‘A’ level passes in Geography and anyone of Economics, History, Agric Science, Geology, and Literature in English, Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
b) NCE in Geography at Merit level, ND with at least merit level. Lower credit level pass in Town Planning, Surveying,Environmental Management or Tropical Science, plus four O’ level credit passes which must include credit in English language and at least a pass in Mathematics.

(8) GODFREY accepts NCE in Geography.

(10) UNIBADAN accepts 2 A/L subjects including Geography and any other science subject for Geography
