Yahaya Bello, aides disregard social distancing in victory celebration [PHOTOS]

In very clear violation of the Nigeria Centre of Disease Control (NCDC) directive on social distancing, Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, and some of his aides stayed close to one another as they celebrated his victory at the election tribunal.

As part of safety protocols, the NCDC had advised Nigerians to maintain a distance of at least two meters to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Kogi and Cross River are the only states without COVID-19 patients in Nigeria which has a total of 7,261 cases.

The mood in Lokoja, Kogi capital, was so bright on Saturday that the governor, Edward Onoja, his deputy, their aides and some cabinet members stood so close as they posed for photographs.

Earlier on Saturday, the Kogi state governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja had affirmed Yahaya Bello as the winner of the 2019 election.
