Why we couldn't beat Chelsea the way we wanted -- Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola laments not beating Chelsea with the perfect score line in the premier league but understands why it never happened.

Sunday evening’s premier league stunner between Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, perhaps will be something that will be continually talked about.

For Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, though he chooses to play coy and political with his words, a part of him wished his Cityzens had dealt the Blues a convincing win on the night.

According to the Spaniard, he name dropped perhaps the perfect score line he would have wanted to leave Stamford Bridge with ahead of the fixture against Liverpool on return from the international break.

Speaking to the press after the game, Guardiola asserted;

“We are top of the league and qualified in the Champions League.

“From where we have come from [last season], when you can have the tendency to be more soft, it is the complete opposite. It hasn’t happened.”

The Manchester City boss goes on to state that City beating Chelsea was no longer news as every team now wants to beat his side.

“If you expect to come here and win 7-0, you are wrong. Everyone wants to beat us. You say there is nothing to lose for them because if Chelsea lose to City, it’s normal, City are a fantastic team,”
