Why Liverpool are really going after Arne Slot
The narratives continue to surround who will replace Jurgen Klopp as manager of Liverpool and according to recent reports, Dutch manager, Arne Slot appears to be the man.
The report which emerged as a surprising one considering how Ruben Amorim was the consistent name linked to the job in many media reports, now sees Arne Slot as a divisive name in the minds of the Liverpool fandom.
However, according to a Twitter user identified as François Plateau, this is a bold step taken by the Liverpool hierarchy as they consider Ruben Amorim as a rigid figure who according to their perspective will demand a greater influence on transfer dealings as opposed to Slot.
Arne Slot in his managerial stint with Feyenoord is reported to have worked under stringent transfer budget to shape the nature and playing style of the team despite Liverpool’s data metrics showing a different playing pattern to outgoing manager, Jurgen Klopp whose tactics bears more closer resemblance to Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim.
However, the Liverpool hierarchy are believed to be moved by Slot’s managerial characteristic of being a coach who focuses on the team available to him than a transfer budget.
The report also states that Sporting Director, Richard Hughes and Head of Operations Michael Edwards want to retain more control over transfers in the new look Liverpool.
