Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the ongoing election.

Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at his polling unit in Agege, Obasa stressed that the party is not just looking to win, but to have a massive turnout in excess of its opponents.

“Everything is going well. Our concern is not just about winning, we want a massive turnout. We want the votes to be in excess,” he said. The Speaker urged more people to come out and vote, emphasizing that there is still time for them to do so.

Obasa also praised the conduct of the electorate, stating that they have shown maturity and that democracy is growing stronger. Dr. Joe Okey-Odumakin, who led a team of election observers to the Speaker’s polling unit, commended the security agencies for displaying a high level of professionalism.

As the election continues, it remains to be seen whether the APC will be able to secure the victory it seeks. However, Obasa’s call for a massive turnout is a reminder of the importance of every citizen’s voice in shaping the future of the state and the country as a whole.
