Veteran musician, King Sunny Ade turns 74

Nigerian veteran singer and songwriter, King Sunny Ade has turns 74 today. TopNaija Reports.

He singer was born on September 22, 1945 in Osogbo to a royal family from Ondo and Akure.

King Sunny Ade is considered one of the most influential musician of all time.

King Sunny Ade is the first Nigerian to be nominated for a Grammy Award in the traditional/ folk music category.

He was described by the New York times as  “one of the world’s great band leaders”.

He was nominated as an Ambassador of the “change begins with you campaign” by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammad and is an inductee into the Hard Cafe Hall of Fame.
