Vanessa Bryant celebrates first birthday without Kobe

Kobe Bryant widow, Vanessa Bryant, on Tuesday, celebrated her 38th birthday with her daughters.

It was Vanessa’s first birthday without her husband and daughter Gianna Bryant, who both died in a helicopter crash at the end of January 2019.

Vanessa’s daughters Natalia, Bianka and Capri made sure that her 38th birthday didn’t pass without notice, as the trio bonded together to present her with a gorgeous array of flowers and piñatas.

She shared the beautiful display in a photo she posted to Instagram on Tuesday, with the caption: “Thx to my girls for ordering these flowers and piñatas for mama.”

She added a birthday cake emoji and the hashtags, ‘#CincodeMayo,’ ‘#TacoTuesday’ and ‘#micumpleaños,’ or ‘my birthday.’

It was also Cinco de Mayo, and her daughters had piñatas hanging from the palm trees surrounding the fountain to celebrate the Mexican holiday.

The girls also filled the fountain with pink and red roses, while decorating the points of the fountain with pale pink and crimson flowers.

Vanessa shared a closeup photo of the water-speckled flowers as they floated on the water.

She also shared a note she got from her daughter, Natalia, telling her that she’s the “strongest person I know”

Earlier, Vanessa revealed she had discovered a love letter Kobe wrote to her before his tragic death but she decided not to open it until her birthday. When she finally opened it on May 5, she found that the image Kobe had chosen for the front of the card depicted Vanessa being held by an angel.

She wrote: “Yesterday I found an envelope labeled To: The Love of my Life. From, Tu Papi.

“I waited to open one more letter on my birthday. It gave me something to look forward to today.

“The irony is that Kobe had a photo of me drawn with an Angel holding me up by an artist on the cover. Missing the Love of my Life and my sweet little Mamacita- my fellow Taurus.

“Grateful to wake up to my 3 sweet girls today. Wish we were all together. #MyBirthdayWish.”

I love to read, write and TRAVEL!!! The media space is my canvas to paint the truths of our brands and the stories of our Nigerian culture. I love a good book any day because with them I can travel to spaces that are perfect in their frame.
