University suspends professor for using corporal punishment on students [Video]
Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology in Wudil, Kano State has suspended a professor for allegedly subjecting pupils to physical punishment.
Sa’idu Abdullahi Nayaya, the university’s Deputy Registrar for Information and Public Relations, made the news.
On Wednesday, February 7, Nayaya announced the immediate suspension of the professor, whose identity was suppressed.
A video of university students being corporally punished for tardiness and other minor infractions in class went viral.
The university administration said that the sanctions included frog jumping.
He said: “It is imperative for students to abide by the rules and regulations set by the school management, as we strive to uphold the highest standards of character and learning.”
