UNIJOS former Student’s Welfare Secretary reportedly dies while swimming with friends
A former SU Welfare Secretary of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has been reported to have drowned in a river while going hiking with friends.
The former Student Union Government Welfare Secretary of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Showul Alex popularly known as Sholex will be buried today, March 30 after he reportedly drowned over the weekend.
According to reports, Sholex was said to have gone hiking with friends on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Shere Hills in Jos.
During the hike, Sholex and some of his friends decided to swim in a river at Shere Hills.
An eyewitness claims Sholex got into the water, swam, and got out to take a breath. Unfortunately, he then jumped in a second time but began to drown.
Friends made efforts to rescue him to no avail.
His body went missing in the water before it was found and recovered three days after on Tuesday, March 29.
