UINCAL Professor Prof. Cyril Ndifon demanded 'Blow job' in exchange for Admission - Star witness tells court

An eye witness has testified against the suspended Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. Cyril Ndifon.

The witness revealed that the professor pressured her to give in on her virginity if she wishes to get admission into the University.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC)’s star witness, identified as TKJ made the statement on Tuesday.
TKJ, who is the ICPC’s 2nd prosecution witness (PW2), told Justice James Omotosho of a Federal High Court, Abuja, this while being led in evidence by the commission’s lawyer, Osuobeni Akponimisingha.
She narrated that she came in contact with Ndifon during her Diploma 1 Programme through some senior students who were posting condolence messages to the lecturer over the death of his mother.
According to her, on returning to school, the suspended professor called her to inquire if she was back, which she answered in affirmative.
However, the witness further told the court that while in his office, the dean held her waist while she tried to free herself from him.
The witness also told the court that the dean also asked her to visit him on a public holiday, and begged her to give him “a blow job” after confirming she was on her menstrual cycle.
She said: “On a public holiday, he asked me to come to his office.

“He pulled his trousers. I told him to stop and that I was on my period (menstruation). He asked ‘won’t I give him my virginity again’?

“I said I was on my period. He put his hand inside my pad. He asked when my period would finish and asked me to sit down.

“He brought out his manhood and asked that I give him a blow job. I told him I can’t. He said I shouldn’t embarrass him.

“He put his manhood back inside his trousers and told me to leave his office.

“When I was about leaving, I begged him that I was sorry.

“That day, I was not on my period; I just had to wear the pad because of the advances he had been making at me.

“I went back to WhatsApp to apologise and told him I was sorry. He was my only hope for the admission, something I had looked for for years.”

Based on the witness’s account, following the incident, the dean who was suspended started exerting undue pressure on her to provide nude videos.

She mentioned that amidst the ongoing sexual harassment protests on campus, the suspended dean had the audacity to ask her for additional nude photographs.

During the ongoing investigation by the University panel, TKJ made an intriguing revelation about an incident outside the hostel. He described how he arrived in a car with tinted glass, adding an element of mystery to the situation.

According to the witness, she hopped into the car and they were engrossed in a conversation when Ndifon made an unwelcome attempt to put his hand inside her trousers.

The PW2 described a disturbing incident where the individual in question prevented her from taking action, proceeding to engage in a highly inappropriate and non-consensual act.

According to her, Ndifon transferred N3000 into her account to treat herself after she had asked for the account details.

Once the prosecution counsel presented her evidence, she skillfully sought to introduce the N3000 bank receipt that had been sent to the witness. With determination, she successfully convinced the court to admit it as an exhibit, even after Ndifon’s lawyer, Joe Agi, SAN, initially objected but later withdrew his objection.

The matter has been adjourned by Justice Omotosho until Feb. 7 for continuation.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Ndifon and Sunny Anyanwu were recently re-arraigned on Jan. 25. They are facing an amended four-count charge that involves allegations of sexual harassment and an attempt to undermine the course of justice.

In the amended charge filed on Jan. 22 by the ICPC, Anyanwu, one of the lawyers in the defence, is alleged to have made a phone call to one of the prosecution witnesses during the ongoing case against Ndifon. The purpose of the call was to allegedly threaten her. This development adds an intriguing twist to the proceedings.
