Three kidnappers killed, two others apprehended by police in Adamawa (Photo)

The Adamawa police command has killed three suspected kidnappers while two were arrested.

TopNaija reports that during a joint operation between police and hunters in Fufore Local Government Area of the State, on Tuesday, May 17, three suspected kidnappers have been killed, and two others were arrested while the others fled with bullet wounds.

Two suspects, Adamu Musa, 30, a resident of Kunini, Lau local government area, Taraba state and Hamidu Umar,28, a resident of Ngurore, Yola North local government. were arrested by the police

Confirming the event in a statement, the Spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroji said two double-barrel guns, handsets, charms, and other items were recovered during the operation.

“On the 17/5/2022, the Command disconnected a criminal network at Samlo Hill, connecting part of Chigari and Gurin village in Fufore local government area,” the statement read.

“The operation which was carried out by the Command operatives attached to Gurin Division and the Hunters at Samlo Hill, situated at a remote side of Chigari and Gurin District in Fufore local government, yielded another positive result

“The outcome of these successes is as a result of the follow-up strategy designed by the Commissioner of police to checkmate cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, Cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others

“The suspected kidnappers upon sighting our men engaged them in a gun duel as a result three of them were neutralized, one apprehended while others escaped with bullet wounds.

According to the PPRO, the operation successfully rescued a kidnapped victim, one Buba Hamidu, a resident of Samlo village, Fufore local Government.

The Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, while commending Dpo Gurin and the Officer in charge of Chigari, their Men and Hunters for disconnecting the criminal network and gallantry performance displayed, directs other DPOs to do the same as a strategy for checkmating crimes and criminals in their areas of responsibility.

The police boss equally assured the Government and people of Adamawa state of sustained efforts to dislodge all criminal hideous and black sports in the state.
