If there is a former Nigerian president who still remains agile even in old age, it is Nigeria’s first president following the return to democracy, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

The Former President of Nigeria revealed the secret behind his impressive fitness level, attributing it to his regular engagement in the sport of squash.

During a courtesy visit to the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, on Friday, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo shared insights into his fitness routine.

The visit coincided with his journey to attend the 61st birthday celebration of his former Special Assistant on Privatization, Bishop Sunday Onuoha.

Commending Governor Otti for his commitment to physical exercise, Obasanjo emphasized the importance for leaders to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“This morning, I came in and I met you exercising. A sound mind and a sound body, and I say to you, now I know your secret,” remarked Obasanjo.

He further elaborated,

“I was glad when you said you do that every other day. It’s just like me playing squash on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I think a leader must keep himself or herself in a healthy condition.”

So, for Nigeria’s political elites, you want to get fit, may be a tip from the former President is all that is needed.
