“The song belongs to me” – Carter Efe speaks on Machala; narrates how he came up with it [Video]

Popular comedian cum singer Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, also known as Carter Efe, has revealed how he made the viral hit track Machala.

His revelation comes after Machala track was wiped off from streaming platforms after a conflicting copyright claim to the song by the singer, Berri Tiga (Real name: Agada Blessed).

With the controversy that surrounded the song, many called out the comedian Carter Efe for using the track to seek the attention of music star, Wizkid, who also is known to be called “Machala”

Amidst the controversy, the “Machala” song was set to be the song of the summer before it was removed from streaming platforms.

In an interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Carter revealed how he made the song that became a viral hit.

According to him,

“I was at home with my guy and started to put some instrumental beats on youtube. I started to chant Machala. It was then it occurred to me that if I do a song like this, it will go viral”
