"The only outcome should be a replay" -- Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the VAR decisions during the recent Tottenham vs. Liverpool fixture.

Klopp’s comments come in the midst of discussions about the possibility of replaying the match following the release of VAR-related audio.

Jurgen Klopp expressed his perspective on the matter, emphasizing that the release of audio recordings had not altered his stance.

He maintained that it was essential to handle the situation appropriately and with an understanding that the referees did not make errors intentionally.

“The audio didn’t change it at all. It’s important that we deal with it in a proper way. They didn’t do it on purpose; we should not forget that,” Jurgen Klopp stated.

The Liverpool manager suggested that a replay of the match would be the right course of action, although he acknowledged that the likelihood of it happening was slim.

“I think a replay would be the right thing,” Klopp asserted. However, he also admitted the practical challenges of such a decision.

Liverpool’s right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, also commented on the 2-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the same fixture.

Despite expressing their intention to secure victories in all games leading up to the international break, Alexander-Arnold noted that VAR decisions had affected the team’s performance.

“We lost the game, our motivation is to win both of these games before the international break,” Alexander-Arnold stated.

Regarding the VAR controversy, the Liverpool player explained the team’s frustrations and disappointment with the decisions made during the match.

“What happened?! We spoke about things but there’s nothing we can do as players about what has gone on. We’re focused on a different competition,” Alexander-Arnold remarked.
