The Hunt For Jude Bellingham
When a player becomes the hottest prospect in town, he raises a lot of interests from just about everyone even though the so called interest may be false or over exaggerated, and this is the case for England prospect, Jude Bellingham whose name has been at the tip of every premier league pundit this season.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has impressed admirers this season from his display in the Champions League and the Bundesliga this season for the BVB.
It has sparked rumors from all corners, with La Liga giants, Real Madrid reportedly being keen on the star and having him included in their ranks of Aurelien Tchouameni and Edouard Camanviga as the era of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos seem to be coming to an end.
Liverpool though have been the club with the most interest, if not desperate considering their lack of midfield options at present. Manchester City on the other hand are a name only thrown into the mix judging by the weight of the club and their spending power.
Wayne Rooney, former player and Legend of Manchester United, has pushed his old team to quickly recruit Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Rooney wants Manchester United to pursue the English midfielder before Liverpool and Manchester City, calling Bellingham “the hottest teenager in global football.”
Bellingham, then 19 years old, rejected an offer from Man United to join Birmingham City in 2020 and instead chose to join Dortmund.
Bellingham, one of the top young midfielders in the league, was recently named to England’s roster for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
In the past, he has been associated with teams like Man United, Liverpool, City, Real Madrid, and others.
Asked whether Man United should be targeting Bellingham next summer, Rooney told talkSPORT: “I hope so! I hope he doesn’t go to Liverpool or [Manchester] City!
“But I am sure they are doing their work, he’s probably the hottest youngster in world football at the minute.
“I am sure United are looking at that as well, I know they tried to get him a couple of years ago, so I would hope so. He is a player that United could really do with at the minute.”
