The GRAMMYs announce new date and venue for 2022 awards
The GRAMMYs have confirmed that the 64th edition of the annual awards show will take place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, come April 3.
The Recording Academy made the statement following the postponement of the award, which was meant to hold on 5th January, due to the new Omicron variant of Covid-19.
The statement reads;
“After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show.
“The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority.
“Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon”.

This makes it the second time the GRAMMYs Awards show organizers will postpone the event in a row. Last year, it was also scheduled for January 31st but was postponed to March 15th due to the pandemic.
