“The evil regime must be punished” — Iran on Israel
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei fumes following the attack by Israel on an embassy owned by Iran in Syria.
The Supreme Leader amidst fears of reprisal attacks by Iran, has issued a stern warning on Wednesday, asserting that Israel “must be punished and it shall be” for its alleged attack on the Iranian embassy compound in Syria.
This declaration comes in the wake of a significant escalation in hostilities between Israel and its regional adversaries.
Suspected Israeli warplanes reportedly targeted Iran’s consulate in the Syrian capital on April 1, resulting in casualties. Iran claimed that the strike killed seven military advisers and pledged to retaliate against Israel for the attack.
During a speech commemorating the conclusion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Ayatollah Khamenei condemned the Israeli actions, labeling them as a mistake for which Israel must face consequences.
The incident underscores the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, as well as the volatile situation in the broader Middle East region. The threat of retaliation from Iran raises concerns about further escalation and instability in the area.
