Shocking: How C & S Pastor set young lady on fire during deliverance
In an alarming twist of faith, 21-year-old Sukura Owodunni became a human inferno during a so-called ‘special prayer session.’
The grim incident unfolded at Cherubim and Seraphim Maberu Parish, situated in the Sagamu area of Ogun State. Taiwo Odebiyi, the man of God leading the church, is now under arrest for setting the young woman ablaze in a deeply unsettling spiritual exercise gone horribly wrong.
This jaw-dropping episode unfolded on August 17, 2023, when Sukura visited the church after being personally invited by Pastor Odebiyi for a “life-changing” prayer session. Following the pastor’s guidance, she purchased ‘Amazing Grace’ perfume, local eggs, and a candle, all supposedly critical elements for her divine transformation.
But when Pastor Odebiyi doused Sukura in the perfume and struck a match to the candle, hell broke loose—literally. In a flash, Sukura was engulfed in a blaze that scorched her chest, shoulders, and legs, leaving her writhing in unthinkable pain. Eyewitnesses recount the disturbing scene, describing the immediate arrest of Odebiyi. CSP Abdulfattah Ogunsanya, the Divisional Police Officer in Adigbe, swooped in with his team to apprehend the now-disgraced pastor.
While Sukura was rushed to the hospital, she was shockingly left to shoulder her medical expenses alone—a cold betrayal after such a horrifying ordeal. Confirming the incident, SP Omolola Odutola, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said, “A comprehensive investigation is currently underway. After wrapping up preliminary inquiries, the case will be escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further scrutiny.”
This chilling event leaves us questioning the lengths some will go in the name of faith, placing innocent lives at risk. It also serves as an urgent reminder to be cautious about where and in whom we place our trust, especially when it comes to spiritual matters. As the law takes its course, we pray for Sukura’s quick recovery and justice for all involved.
