Senate passes NYSC Trust Fund Bill

A bill establishing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund has been passed by the Nigerian Senate.

A bill has been introduced by Senator Yemi Adaramodu (APC, Ekiti) to ensure a consistent and reliable funding stream for the NYSC. The bill aims to support the skill acquisition, training, and empowerment of corps members, as well as the ongoing training and development of NYSC personnel. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the facilities and formations of the NYSC camps.

Adaramodu, in a statement to reporters, expressed confidence that the NYSC Trust Fund, once enacted, would be safeguarded against misuse, unlike other social intervention programmes.
