School Head Girl shed tears as her parents fail to attend her graduation

A viral video showed the moment a school head girl broke down in tears during her school graduation in Oyo State.

In the video gaining emotions, the young schoolgirl identified as Bashiru Wasilat was crying profusely while delivering her farewell speech because her mother and father were unable to attend her graduation.

The emotional video was shared by a Twitter user, @oluwakayodey_.

@Oluwakayodey_, who was the MC at the event, said Wasilat is on the verge of stopping school because her parents are financially handicapped, which is also the main reason they were nowhere to be found on her day of joy at her school, God’s Light Group of Schools, Oyo town, Oyo state.

The Twitter user explained that Wasilat’s father currently has no job while the mum is a struggling petty trader and they are barely able to survive.

The MC revealed, however, that the school handled some of the finances including the graduation gown 11-year-old Wasilat was wearing.

The smart girl who is now a graduate took the first position in class and cleared all her exams with good results.

The MC appealed to well-meaning persons to come to the girl’s aid as she has no one to turn to.

Sharing the video of Wasilat crying, he wrote: “Bashiru Wasilat, the Head Girl of God’s Light Group of Schools, Oyo town is on the verge of dropping out. I was invited as Mc in the graduation ceremony when I heard about the story of the 11 years old girl.

Wasilat was weeping when she was giving her farewell speech. None of her parents showed up at the party due to lack of money. Her dad is jobless and her mom is a ‘struggling’ trader. It was the school that funded some of her things, including the graduation gown.
