Samuel Ogundipe Speaks After His Release From Police Custody
Premiumtimes Journalist, Samuel Ogundipe who was recently released on bail after Nigerians organized protests against his detention has shared a word of appreciation to all those who stood by him while he was in police custody for three days.
Samuel took to Twitter to express his surprise at the level of support that came his way, which he wasn’t aware of while in custody.

“During my detention, I had no idea of the magnitude of support that came in for me from the public. Upon my release earlier today, @PremiumTimesng management explained that my freedom came because of the pressure you all mounted.
I am very grateful. Thank you!”
Ogundipe was arrested by SARS officers and taken to the police headquarters, alongside the editor-in-chief of the news portal. The editor-in-chief was later released.
He was held over a story he reported about Police IG Ibrahim Idris.
PremiumTimes reports that Ogundipe was first arraigned, although secretly, at the Kubwa Grade 1 Magistrate Court in Abuja before being granted bail.
