Reactions as Davido’s aide slaps fan trying to take photo with him (Video)
Nigerians on social media are expressing their disappointment with Grammy-nominated superstar, Davido, following a video in which Davido’s aide, Lati DMW, seemed to have slapped a fan who wanted to take a photo with the singer.
The singer’s recent video, which has gained widespread attention on social media and sparked some negative feedback, shows him casually strolling alongside his team of security personnel and assistants at what seems to be a public gathering.
A young man, filled with excitement, couldn’t contain his joy as he repeatedly shouted the name of his favorite singer, Davido. The fan also made an effort to have the Afrobeats star make an appearance in a video he was filming on his phone, but unfortunately, he was pushed away and received a slap from Davido’s aide.
The disappointed fan, determined to capture a better photo with Davido, bravely moved closer for a second attempt. However, his boldness resulted in a forceful slap that abruptly removed him from the frame.
The incident has sparked widespread criticism on various social media platforms, particularly X. It sparked discussions about the dynamics between celebrities and their fans, as well as the limits that should be respected.

Reacting to the incident with Davido’s aide, Mr Macaroni wrote: “This is sad and highly condemnable!!! There is absolutely no need for this assault. This is dehumanizing and I speak against it because I know exactly how this feels. The change that we all seek must begin with us!!!’
The skit maker advised fans against approaching celebrities to take pictures without their permission. He also urged celebrities to treat their fans with respect.
“Please, if you must take pictures with any of your favorite celebrity, kindly seek permission so that you are not seen as a threat. Respect is reciprocal. We must respect the privacy of our celebrities and Celebrities must also learn to treat our fans with respect and dignity,” he wrote.
