PSG to meet Osimhen’s agent In the International break
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly in talks with the agent of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen over a possible transfer to the Ligue 1 champions this summer. The sporting director of PSG, Luis Ocampos, is set to meet with Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, during the current international break to discuss the possibility of the move.
According to transfer expert Santi Aouna, PSG is trying to convince Osimhen to join them instead of making a move to the Premier League, where Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the Nigerian international. Osimhen has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, but PSG is hoping to sway him with their offer.
PSG’s sporting director, Ocampos, had reportedly met with Calenda a few weeks ago to discuss the same subject, indicating that the club has a strong interest in the young striker. Napoli, the current club of Osimhen, will be hoping to receive a fee of €150 million from his sale.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 from Lille in Ligue 1 and has made a good impression with the club, peaking this season in the Serie A. However, PSG is hoping to secure the services of the Nigerian forward as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
PSG is known for their willingness to spend big on transfers, having signed Neymar from Barcelona for a world-record fee of €222 million in 2017. If they can convince Osimhen to join them, it would be another statement of intent from the Ligue 1 champions, who are aiming to dominate both domestically and in Europe.
