A good move for Lionel Messi -- Gary Neville

The stage is reportedly set to be over for Lionel Messi at PSG.

Football star Lionel Messi is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer following a two-week suspension by the club for traveling to Saudi Arabia without permission, according to reports from L’Equipe.

PSG has also decided not to offer Messi a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old Argentinian captain has been linked with a return to his former club, Barcelona, as well as a few Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs. Messi reportedly asked PSG for permission to travel to Saudi Arabia, having previously postponed a scheduled commercial trip twice due to team defeats.

However, PSG did not approve the trip, leading to Messi’s two-week suspension and a fine equivalent to two weeks’ wages. As a result of his suspension, Messi will miss important league games against Troyes and Ajaccio.

This development has fueled speculations about Messi’s future, with many suggesting that he may be more inclined to leave PSG given the club’s decision not to offer him a contract extension. Messi joined PSG last summer on a two-year contract with an option for a third year.
