Police arrest ritualists over serial killings in Oyo communiy

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested some suspected ritualists who were linked to serial killings in Akinyele community in Ibadan.

Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security, Mr Fatai Owoseni, made the disclosure during a town hall meeting organised by JAMZ 100.1 FM, Ibadan.

According to him, the suspected killers would soon be paraded by the Oyo State Police Command.

Owoseni said, “I can assure you as I speak that the perpetrators of the killings in Akinyele have been apprehended.

“As of Tuesday, the criminals were apprehended and the Commissioner of Police would possibly hold a press conference today. But, I can specifically tell you that the person behind it has taken police to the ritualists and they are now behind the bars.”

He urged the people to be security conscious, adding that residents have roles to play in securing communities.

It had been reported that a 29-year old expectant mother, two undergraduates, and a young boy were killed by unknown assailants in their homes in the Akinyele area of Ibadan recently.
