In response to swirling rumours, Val Obienyem, Media Adviser to Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, has firmly refuted allegations that Obi was apprehended by the Department of State Services (DSS) at his home in Anambra State.

Obienyem addressed the misinformation in a statement on Tuesday, asserting that Obi was not present in Anambra State during the purported arrest.

He revealed that Obi was actually in Rwanda on official business last Saturday and has since returned to Nigeria. Currently, Obi is engaged in political activities in Edo State.

Obienyem emphasized that there was no DSS operation at Obi’s residence, and the arrest claims are entirely unfounded.
