Peter Obi to address Supreme Court ruling today
The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is set to hold an international press conference today, November 6, in his first official media appearance following his loss at the Supreme Court.
The announcement was made by the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, in a statement issued on Monday.
The statement conveyed that “His Excellency Peter Obi will address a World Press Conference scheduled for 2 pm today at Campaign Headquarters.”
During this conference, it is expected that Obi will address several key topics, including the Supreme Court’s ruling, his future plans in the political landscape, and the current state of affairs in the country.
This media conference comes one week after Peter Obi’s campaign spokesman, Yunusa Tanko, denied rumors that the former governor of Anambra State had gone into hiding following the Supreme Court’s decision.
Tanko clarified that Obi had traveled abroad well before receiving the court notice and that he would address Nigerians upon his return to the country.
It’s worth noting that the Supreme Court recently dismissed Obi’s appeal challenging the declaration of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25, 2023, presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
