Pep Guardiola Doesn’t Want Countries Calling Him to Rest Players

The darkest night they say is just before the dawn, and for club football players, the final weekend before the world cup could be just that, but when brought up to Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager, the Spaniard isn’t ready to grant favors to any country.

It goes by the former Barcelona manager’s personality of doing everything to get the result and stay competitive in the league or in any title winning competition, and as far as there is one final weekend game before the world cup, he insists he won’t take any call to rest players.

Pep Guardiola has advised national team managers who want to rest their World Cup players this weekend to “don’t call me.”

Before the final round of Premier League games before the tournament’s start in Qatar, Guardiola made this statement.

To support the nations competing in the competition, the Spaniard has made it clear that he would not rotate his Brentford team.

“Absolutely we aren’t going to rest players for the national teams. I didn’t get any [calls] and it’s not necessary to call me. I advise, don’t call me,” Guardiola told a news conference on Friday.

He added:

“It’s the last game, most of the players right after the game leave for the national team. They are packing and it’s a dangerous thing.”

Pep Guardiola has stated that he will not travel to Qatar to watch World Cup matches, but will instead return to Barcelona before taking a flight back to Manchester on December 5.
