Pastor Enoch Adeboye honored wtih a new appointment

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, was recently honored with a new Christian role.

TopNaija gathered that Daddy G.O as he is fondly called, has been appointed as the Patron of the Ecumenical Synod of Bishops, Archbishops, and Senior Clergy Inc. (ESBAASC).

The announcement was made at Emmanuel Park, RCCG Redemption Camp during the group’s international conference held from August 22 to 25, 2024.

The conference, themed “Religious Tolerance in Nigeria and Across the Nations of the World,” hammered on the strategies and challenged associated with religious tolerance.

The ESBAASC is an association of Christian leaders that works to bring Christians of all faiths together and encourages discussions. It also encourages religious cooperation and understanding. Archbishop Prof. Kehinde Olubunmi, who is the Chief Host and International Prelate, was there and chose Pastor Adeboye as the Patron.

Matron of ESBAASC is Archbishop Prof. Mary Ajisafe, who is also in charge of the Peace of God Ministry in Lagos. The crowd cheered for both nominations and gave them standing ovations.

Archbishop Olubunmi stressed that the group was working with international groups to boost religious tolerance in Nigeria and share this approach across Africa.

Pastor Adeboye, who was with RCCG National Overseer Emeritus Pastor Joseph Obayemi, took a thoughtful stance. He talked about his childhood and times when he lived peacefully with people of other faiths.

He talked about how his early interactions with Muslims and people of other religions showed him how to live with others peacefully.

Pastor Adeboye said that religious equality means helping people from different countries understand each other and work together.

He also said that a lot of the religious and ethnic violence in Nigeria is done for political reasons and is common when the economy and society are in bad shape.

Pastor Adeboye told the people there to fight for religious freedom and emphasised that real Christians should put love and protecting life ahead of violence and conflict.
