No one can stop them — Former Chelsea player, Malouda
Former Chelsea player, Florent Malouda has tipped Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side to continue holding the premier league hostage with a fourth consecutive title this season.
The former winger in his prediction, mentions that his former club does not have what it takes to challenge for the title this season, however he tips the Blues for the top four finish.
Malouda in his prediction asserts that Chelsea will finish above the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, despite results versus Liverpool and West Ham not doing much to put a convincing show.
The pundit acknowledges it is a far stretch to go this season but tips the Blues to bounce back from their 12th place finish in the league last season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side started the season with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on the opening weekend before playing out a 3-1 defeat away to West Ham a week after.
Chelsea in a torrid 2022/23 season, struggled under 3 different managers to go 12th on the table, with Malouda tipping Pochettino’s coaching style to be the difference this season.
Chelsea face an uphill battle against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and even Brighton and Aston Villa for a spot in the top four.
Florent Malouda stated;
“I think Chelsea will struggle to get in the top-four – but I think they’ll still do it,” Malouda, a Champions League and Premier league winner with the Blues, told Betway.
“Manchester City are above all teams in the league, then I would pick Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea after that.
“It’s a transition season for them, but I’d pick them over Man Utd. To make it in the top-four now is very difficult. City will be champions again.”
