Nigeria’s Top Goal Scorers as Victor Osimhen triumphs

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen may come off as stat padding against Sao Tome and Principe, but if anything is to be taken from the Napoli forward’s game, its that he takes his chances whenever they come.

The AFCON qualifier game versus Sao Tome and Principe provided the opportunity for the Super Eagles’ striker to go further up the ranks in his goal ratio with the forward netting yet another hattrick against the Sunday opponent.

Victor Osimhen had netted 4-goals in the first leg fixture, bringing his goal tally to 7 against the Central African nation.

This catapults the Napoli striker to 20 goals in 27 appearances for Nigeria’s national team in the 6-0 rout on Sunday.

Though other players like Taiwo Awoniyi, Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze featured with goals from their end, Osimhen’s hattrick puts him together with some important names in Nigerian football history.
