My Dad wanted me to be a lawyer – Oga Sabinus spills; recounts journey through comedy
Popular Instagram comedian, Oga Sabinus has given a flashback of his journey through the entertainment industry as a comedian.
The skit maker, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Ejekwu popularly known as Oga Sabinus, during an interview on TV show, ‘Rubbin’ Minds recounted how his father was initially unaware of his career path as against his, the during his university days.
He also stated that if Instagram happens to shut down, YouTube and Facebook will pay him.
“If Instagram shut down, YouTube, Facebook will pay me. Content creation is a career to me. It has helped so many people”. He said.
According to the skit maker, he hid his comedy talent from his dad while at the University as his dad wanted him to be a lawyer as initially planned.
“I never knew comedy can pay or can make someone popular. I was just a normal street boy that would go to where they are playing football and sit with them. My dad wanted me to be a lawyer he was very angry I was studying linguistics at first. From UNIPORT I started performing at school shows. I hid my comedy from my dad at first but he knew about it in my final year.”
He said ‘This is what you are doing in school, it’s okay just know that you will still study law”.
