Mohbad’s father curses anyone who monetizes late Mohbad’s remembrance
The late Nigerian singer Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, says that anyone who wants to make money off of his late son’s remembrance is wrong.
After a court hearing about Mohbad’s death on September 11, 2024, Joseph told reporters that he was upset that his son’s remembrance was being used for business purposes.
In a video, he talked about how deeply sad he was and how he still cries when he hears his son’s songs.
Mohbad’s father criticized people who were trying to make money off of the first anniversary of his son’s death. He made it clear that he didn’t like people who were trying to make money off of this sad event.
Mr. Joseph said that these people and their families would have to go through a lot of pain. He stressed that this time should be used for remembering and doing what’s right, not taking advantage of people.
“I talked about Mohbad’s first death anniversary and how it’s in two categories. Some people want to use the death of a 26-year-old to make money. When I pass and his song is playing, I shed tears.
“So if somebody has decided that his death anniversary is an opportunity for them to make money, they and their family will suffer from leprosy. This is the time to remember that it has been one year, and we still haven’t gotten justice,” he stated.
