Mickey Mouse team: Thierry Henry blasts Tuchel
Thierry Henry may not be a Bayern Munich fan but the Bavarians crashing out of the Champions League last night to Real Madrid the way they did leaves the Frenchman’s fingers pointing at none other than Thomas Tuchel.
The former Arsenal striker weighed in on Real Madrid’s dramatic victory over Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, highlighting a controversial decision by Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel.
Henry questioned Tuchel’s choice to withdraw Harry Kane from the game, suggesting that such a move could have contributed to Bayern’s downfall against the Spanish giants. Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory in the match, advancing 4-3 on aggregate, after the first leg ended in a 2-2 draw in Germany.
“You don’t take Kane out in a game like that, because you play against Real Madrid. You’re not playing against any, sorry to say, Mickey Mouse teams. This is Real Madrid, that’s what they do. There’s no luck in that, it’s called Real Madrid. Period,” Henry remarked.
Despite Bayern Munich initially taking the lead through a goal from Alphonso Davies in the 68th minute, Real Madrid staged a remarkable comeback in the dying moments of the game, with Joselu sealing their late progression.
