Chelsea could lose one of their own in Mason Mount in a perfect revenge story to Thomas Tuchel.

Thomas Tuchel suffered an embarrassing conclusion to his Chelsea journey following his untimely sacking as Blues’ boss, but according to reports, the German might have the last laugh with a planned raid on Chelsea this coming summer.

In a bid to strengthen their midfield, Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing a move for Chelsea’s Mason Mount this summer. The German club’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, coached Mount during his time at Stamford Bridge and is said to have a strong relationship with the England international.

Chelsea had hoped to extend Mount’s contract by seven years, keeping him at the club until 2030, but negotiations between the player’s representatives and the Blues have reportedly hit a stumbling block. Mount’s current contract expires in 2024 and the midfielder is said to be demanding terms that are not in line with Chelsea’s offer.

As a result, Chelsea may be forced to sell the 24-year-old this summer to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play rules. Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Mount, but Tuchel is said to be keen on bringing the player to the Bundesliga.

Mount has made 192 appearances for Chelsea to date, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists. He is seen as a key player for both club and country and any potential transfer fee is likely to be substantial. Reports suggest that Chelsea are looking for at least £50 million for the midfielder.

Chelsea’s financial losses have been well documented in recent months, and the sale of Mason Mount could help to ease the club’s financial burden. However, fans are likely to be disappointed at the prospect of losing one of their star players, particularly given his strong performances this season.

It remains to be seen whether a deal will be struck between Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but Mount’s future is likely to be a topic of much discussion in the coming weeks and months.
