Maraji defends Chef Dammy’s attempt to break cooking record amid mixed reactions (video)
Nigerian comedienne Gloria Oloruntobi, popularly known as Maraji, has come to the defense of Ekiti chef Dammy, who attempted to break Hilda Baci’s new record for the longest cooking time by an individual.
In a video shared on social media, Maraji expressed her opinion that there is nothing wrong with Chef Dammy’s attempt and stated that life itself is a competition.
The attempt by Damilola Adeparusi, also known as Chef Dammy, to surpass Hilda Baci’s record by completing a 120-hour cook-a-thon has sparked mixed reactions.
While some criticized her for not waiting for some time before attempting to break the record, Maraji defended her and highlighted that in creative fields like music and comedy, individuals do not wait for others to achieve success before pursuing their own dreams.
Maraji addressed the critics who suggested that Chef Dammy should have collaborated with brands or followed specific protocols like Hilda Baci did.
She argued that such expectations were unfounded and expressed disappointment that the majority of critics were women. Maraji further emphasized that breaking records within a short time after they were set is not uncommon, citing examples of people from the same country who have done so.
