Manchester United to reportedly cut Erik ten Hag's salary

The narrative swings once more at Manchester United and again at its manager, Erik ten Hag who many rumors has swirled around as facing a possible sack now or after the season ends.

According to the reports, Erik ten Hag, faces the possibility of a significant pay cut should he continue his tenure at the Premier League club beyond the current season.

According to ESPN reports, Ten Hag is set to experience a substantial 25 percent reduction in salary at Old Trafford, a consequence of the team’s anticipated failure to secure qualification for the prestigious Champions League.

The Dutchman, who initially penned a three-year deal with the Red Devils upon his arrival from Ajax in May 2022, finds himself under mounting pressure as Manchester United struggles in seventh place on the league table.

With a sizable 16-point deficit separating them from a top-four position, the team’s performance has raised doubts about Ten Hag’s future at the helm.

However, sources suggest that United’s restructured football hierarchy, spearheaded by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS, has been actively exploring alternative managerial options.

Prospective candidates reportedly include England’s Gareth Southgate, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel, Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Wolves’ Gary O’Neil.
