Manchester United holding tight on Harry Maguire amidst Chelsea interest
Manchester United are seriously holding on to their Captain, Harry Maguire despite interests from Chelsea to poach the player off their hands.
According to the UK Sun, the Red Devils are unwilling to engage in a trade with the Blues after turning down a recent approach from Chelsea.
Despite a tumultuous year in the prior season, the defender has continued to attract interests from clubs such as Chelsea and judging from prior speculations, Barcelona also had an eye for the player.
With the Manchester United captain still struggling for form, speculations are that Harry Maguire could face a starting berth on the bench on Monday.
The defender has faced so many criticisms online by the fan base and the critics alike who have continually subjected the player to criticisms for Man United’s poor performances.
According to Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s main interest is Wesley Fofana with other reports stating Maguire is only an alternative should Leicester City not budge.
Maguire was said to have been discussed in a possible swap that would take Blues winger Christian Pulisic to United.
However, the Red Devils do not want to sell Maguire, as they still believe he can contribute positively this season and beyond.
Apparently the reign of Captain Harry Maguire still continues at Old Trafford.
