Manchester United dressing room divided -- UK Media reports

Reports coming from high profile UK media publications have stated that the atmosphere within the dressing room at Manchester United has crumbled now more than ever.

According to a report from the Daily Mail last night, it is stated that Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has lost roughly half of his players over his managerial style or man management, with players reported to be frustrated by the Dutchman’s training sessions.

This comes after the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at the weekend that marks the Red Devils’ 10th loss in the current 2023/24 season.

The Old Trafford side currently faces elimination from the Champions League after the 3-3 draw versus Turkish side, FC Galatasaray, with reports stating that the rift between Erik ten Hag and senior Manchester United players continue to grow by the day.

Ten Hag, under mounting pressure with the team currently positioned 7th in the Premier League table and facing a five-point gap from the top four, is now confronted with allegations of losing the support of half of his players due to his management style.

Sky Sports has revealed that discontent among players stems from various issues, including dissatisfaction with the team’s style of play and what’s perceived as excessively rigorous training sessions.

Some senior players have reportedly voiced concerns, citing a belief that the training regime is overly demanding, leading to confusion about its purpose.

The situation appears to have escalated to the extent that certain senior members of the squad have confronted Ten Hag, drawing upon their experiences from previous clubs and expressing reservations about his approach to man-management.

ESPN has further amplified these reports, indicating that Ten Hag is now engaged in a struggle to maintain the support of key players amid these critical junctures of the season.

While a faction of players remains aligned with Ten Hag and his coaching staff, there are growing concerns within the club about a potential decline in the dressing room atmosphere.

ESPN’s insights suggest that disagreements primarily revolve around Ten Hag’s intense training methods, which have been sustained since the preseason tour in the United States, coupled with what’s perceived as tactically risky strategies leaving the team defensively exposed.

Numerous prominent English media outlets, including the Daily Mail, Mirror, and Sky Sports, have echoed these sentiments, underscoring the emerging discord within the Manchester United camp.

Senior players questioning Ten Hag‘s tactics and approach, with allegations of excessively demanding training sessions, underscore the growing tensions that the Dutch manager must now navigate amidst a challenging period for the club.
