Police operatives in Adamawa have arrested a 26-year-old man identified as Nasir Babale, and wanted for carjacking in the Jimeta area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect was arrested while trying to take the stolen vehicle out of the state to Taraba.

He said, “On November 27, 2020, the command, while revamping the security architecture ahead of Yuletide in the state, apprehended Nasir Babale, a resident of Guyuk Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

“The arrest of the notorious carjacker indicates the operational readiness of the police ahead of Yuletide.”

Babale reportedly confessed to stealing a Toyota Corolla with the number plate, GWA 623 BF.

“The command will ensure the owner recovers their vehicle while the suspect will be arraigned,” Nguroje added.

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adeyanju, commended the operatives and urged residents to be security conscious.
