Liverpool receive 'big boost' ahead of Manchester City clash

Liverpool’s defensive ace Ibrahima Konate seems poised for a comeback as the Reds gear up for a pivotal premier league clash against Manchester City this Saturday.

Konate’s absence from Liverpool’s recent fixture against Brentford due to a recurring hamstring issue had raised concerns, especially after his prior rest during the Europa League loss to Toulouse.

France’s national team manager, Didier Deschamps, shed light on the situation, stating, “He had tests, but it’s not serious. He needs a bit of time to not take any risks. It’s an area where he already has an injury.” Deschamps’ comments hinted at Konate’s potential availability but advised caution to prevent aggravating the injury.

Konate, who hadn’t been active on social media since his injury setback, recently shared a montage on Instagram.

The video showcased the 24-year-old undergoing intensive individual coaching and fitness routines, with a particular focus on rehabilitating his left leg, the area of concern.

The caption accompanying the post, “No days off. Big week incoming #YNWA,” further fueled anticipation of his return, aligning with Deschamps’ earlier indications of a possible comeback in time to join Liverpool for the Manchester City clash.

Ahead of the visit to the Etihad, the presence of the Frenchman will be a big boost for the Reds’ defense if Liverpool hope to get a result versus a star studded Manchester City team.
