LASU to represent Nigeria at 2017 Hult Prize competition in US

 

The Lagos State University (LASU) has been chosen to represent Nigeria at the 2017 Bill Clinton Initiative known as the “Hult Prize” in the US.
Findings revealed that LASU and possibly University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, will be the two universities to represent Nigeria in Boston, Massachusetts, United States next year March.

Over 40 teams applied, 15 made it to the knock out stages, 7 competed at the Semi Finals and 4 competed at the Finals out of which a team won.

The Hult Prize, organised by Hult Prize Foundation – a startup accelerator, is an annual competition which encourages university students to come up with innovative, sustainable and scalable social business ideas to solve one of the current pressing global social problems. Winners get the opportunity to turn their ideas to reality with the prize of $1 million as seed capital as well as mentoring and advice from the international business community.

The Team that will be representing LASU on an all-expense paid trip to Boston is TeamDynamo made up of; Adeyemi Taofeek(Faculty of Law), Pelumi Ambode (Department of History and International Studies), Kolawole Victoria (Department of Mathematics Education), and Yusuf Olawale ( Department of Mechanical Engineering).
