Lagos seals Quilox over noise pollution, detain owner Shina Peller
The Lagos state government has sealed off Club Quilox for noise pollution and traffic congestion, hours after the club organised its annual 36-hour party.
The club owner Shina Peller, who is also a House of Representatives member, has been reportedly detained at the Moroko Police Station in Lagos state. Peller, who is representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo state, is the owner of a popular Lagos club, Quilox. Vanguard reports that the lawmaker was allegedly arrested while trying to take the bail of some customers of the popular club.
Kola Popoola, who is Peller’s spokesperson, said his principal’s offence the was not disclosed to him as his phones were seized. According to Popoola, the clubbers were arrested for allegedly parking on the road during a show at the club. He, however, said Peller was harassed by the police and his phones was seized as he tried to take the bail of the arrested customers. The spokesperson called on the state commissioner of police to intervene in the matter.
So founder of Quilox and House of Representatives member, @ShinaPeller went to bail his customers that were illegally arrested… then the Police at Maroko police station detained him as well. Police brutality knows no status.
